In May 2023, the city purchased nearly 2 acres of land in the West Bench to build affordable housing. The proposed project is part of the City’s affordable housing land trust.

This project will include 200 units for individuals making less than 60% of the area median income, 19 of which will be for households earning less than 50% of the area median income and 20 of which will be for dedicated for households exiting homelessness.

McKinney is projected to begin construction in late 2024.
