At 7:30 am on November 9, 2023, an SRO was alerted to an issue in front of his assigned school, North Junior High. The officer met administrators outside the school where they had a subject detained who had just gotten off a school bus and they confirmed he was not a student. The officer made contact with the suspect, Tristiano Fragomeno. After an investigation, evidence indicates that Fragomeno was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and boarded the bus attempting to get a ride to an unknown location. During the ride, the bus driver noticed his behavior was suspicious and alerted school administrators. Following an interview with Fragomeno, the officer began to search the suspect’s bag but Fragomeno attempted to run away.  He was taken into custody following a short foot pursuit. Officers located a stolen firearm, and drugs inside of Fragomeno’s bag. He did not have a knife as previously reported based on preliminary information. There is no evidence to indicate a direct threat to students or any local schools. Fragomeno was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charges.
