Arrested: Kenneth Enger, 31, Boise
Charges: Conspiracy to commit aggravated assault (F), Enhancement – use of a deadly weapon in commission of a felony (F), Unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (F), Failure to appear
On 11/24/2023, Boise Police officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Curtis Road and Overland Road. Further investigation led to an apartment complex on the 1700 block of S. Curtis Road where officers located multiple holes on the exterior of the apartment. Officers confirmed the people inside the apartment were safe and evidence indicated the shots were fired at the building from the outside. During their investigation officers also determined that the shooting appeared to be gang related, and Kenneth Enger, a documented gang member, was identified as a possible suspect. Officers obtained a warrant for Enger’s arrest and on 11/25/2023 officers located and arrested Enger without incident. During his arrest, Enger, a convicted felon, was found to be in possession of a firearm.
“Gang violence is a complex and devastating problem that many communities across the United States have unfortunately lost control over. We will not tolerate this behavior in the Treasure Valley and will continue to take a proactive stance against it, alongside our other regional law enforcement partners. I am grateful to our officers, many of whom possess specialized expertise and have taken on additional duties to appropriately intervene and keep our communities among the safest and the most livable in the country. It is because of their dedication that we were able to quickly identify this suspect and safely take him into custody,” said Boise Police Department Captain Jim Quackenbush.
Enger is facing the charges shown above related to the warrant. The charges listed on the Ada County Jail arrest report are being updated to reflect the charges from the warrant.
