Boise Police arrest suspect in June shooting into home

Arrested: Johnny Bennett, 20, Boise

Charges: Theft – Grand (F), Burglary (F), Weapon – Unlawful Discharge at a House, Occupied Building, Vehicle, etc. (F)

Following the investigation of a shooting into a home on June 19th, Boise Police arrested suspect Johnny Bennett on multiple warrants. Evidence indicates in the hours before the incident, Bennett stole a firearm from a vehicle on the 3000 block of Anemone Ct. He fired the gun into a field on Amity Rd. and drove to the 4000 block of S. Oregon Trail Way and fired multiple shots at the victim’s home. Bennett is not known to the victims. As a result of the investigation, Boise Police submitted a warrant request to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office. Bennett was arrested this morning and booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charges.

Boise Police investigators are looking for any witnesses, video evidence or information about a shooting into a home on Monday morning.

On June 19th, around 1:15 am Boise Police responded to a report of shots fired into a home on the 4000 block of S. Oregon Trail Way. Evidence indicates the home was struck from the outside multiple times and some rounds entered the home.  Multiple residents were home at the time of the incident but thankfully no one was injured. Detectives have been following up on leads and the investigation is ongoing.
