The pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on 16th Street on May 1st, 2023 passed away at a local hospital today, May 11, 2023. A preliminary investigation shows the adult male was walking east to west across 16th Street, under the overpass, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling south on 16th Street. The victim was rushed to a local hospital and officers began an investigation. BPD’s crash reconstruction team also responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time. The Ada County Coroner will identify the victim pending notification of next of kin.

16th St. is closed at Front St while BPD investigates a vehicle vs pedestrian crash that occurred around 5:45 pm. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with injuries that appeared on scene to be potentially life threatening. A crash reconstruction team is on scene.
