Boise Police detectives are continuing to investigate a man’s death on W. Fernwood Drive and at this time have located additional evidence. Based on this new evidence, detectives are releasing Cambria Kichner from the Ada County Jail without criminal charges. The death investigation is ongoing. There is no evidence of any threat to the general public.

On July 22, 2023 at 12:01 pm, Boise Police Officers responded to the 6700 block of W Fernwood Dr for a reported suicide. Responding officers located a deceased male with a gunshot wound inside of the home. During the initial investigation, the scene appeared suspicious, and evidence led detectives to believe it to be a homicide. After further investigation involving detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit, Cambria Kichner was booked into Ada County Jail on the listed charges. The investigation is ongoing. The victim and suspect were known to each other. The Ada County Coroner’s Officer will identify the victim pending notification of next of kin.
