This application applies to any request to deviate from the floodplain standards as detailed within Section 11-02-07.3(F) FP-O Flood Protection Overlay. The intent of the Floodplain Ordinance is to protect the health and safety of the citizens, and to minimize losses due to flooding. As floodplain variances are strongly discouraged, there may be other requirements to ensure an acceptable solution is reached. Floodplain Variance applications are reviewed for approval by the Hearing Examiner.
